When I
When I put on my badge and sit at my desk and pass our kitchens, I wear a mask.
When I walk down aisles and stand in lines and smile at checkout, I wear a mask.
When I board the bus and share dead seats and sit in silence, I wear a mask.
When I wander the streets and mind myself and blend with humans, I wear a mask.
When I see old friends and share old jokes and seem nothing’s changed, I wear a mask.
When I visit family and live amongst violence and shine my smile, I wear a mask.
When I am among allies I’ve never seen toil who try to relate, I wear a mask.
When I’m with true comrades I see the world hurt and I choose to forgive, I wear a mask.
When I speak to strangers and nod at their struggle to not pay for gas chambers, I wear a mask.
When I talk environment because Carnists won’t stay if they face what they pay for, I wear a mask.
When I balk at said setbacks and praise some small changes and say, yes, health’s important, I wear a mask.
When I end, “Thanks for your time and have a nice day” knowing you’ve left to find more flayed flesh, I wear a mask.
When I’m in the Cube, I don’t wear a mask. I am exactly what I want to show.
